Assistant Civil Surgeon of Union Health and Family Welfare Centre at the Dapdapia union of Jhalakathi's Nalchity upazila has been served with a show-cause notice for making critical comments about the Health Service Division on social media.

The physician, Dr Md Tipu Sultan, has been asked to explain as to why the authorities should not be asked to take action against him.

The notice, issued by the Upazila Health and Family Planning Office, also asked for an explanation from him about why he made the negative comments about the health division.

"I myself was tested Covid-19 positive. Four months have passed but we did not receive any good medical equipment or N-95 mask," Dr Md Tipu Sultan told The Business Standard.

"I wrote the Facebook post out of frustration. So that something gets done," he added.

Dr Md Tipu Sultan has expressed that he is feeling ashamed of the situation after posting the status.

Dr Tipu has been directed to reply within three working days of receiving the notice.
