JCI Chattogram has taken on the responsibility of caring for 40 orphaned children, aged between 1 to 5 years, from the government-run children shelter home Chotomoni Nibash in the port city.

The organisation took the initiative under a project named "Amader Chotomoni" aiming at ensuring a supportive environment for marginalised children.

Under the project, JCI Chattogram will offer two caregivers, and provide items such as diapers, medicines, hygiene products, toys, games, stationary, and educational materials annually for the children.

JCI Chattogram Executive Vice President Ishtiaque Alam Chowdhury, Director Sadaf Rahman, and Vice President Shahab Uddin Chowdhury are directors of the project.

Attending a recent art competition organised by JCI Chattogram for children with special needs and orphaned ones, Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Abul Bashar Mohammed Fakhruzzaman lauded the project "Amader Chotomoni" by the organisation.

He said collective efforts are needed to create a brighter future for these children.

On the occasion, President of JCI Chattogram Md Ismail said every child receives the love, attention, and opportunities they deserve.

The inauguration of the "Amader Chotomoni" project saw the presence of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry Director Ahid Shiraj Shapan, former JCI Chattogram president Ashim Kumer Das, Deputy Director of Social Services Office Faridul Alam, along with other members of JCI Chattogram.
