JCI Bangladesh elects Arefin Rafi Ahmed as national president for 2026
The JCI Bangladesh National Election 2026 was held today in a festive and democratic atmosphere at the Radisson Hotel in the capital.
Two prominent and active leaders of the organisation Arefin Rafi Ahmed and Altamish Nabil contested for the post of national president in this year's election.
Following day-long voting and vote counting, the results were announced, with Arefin Rafi Ahmed elected national president of JCI Bangladesh for 2026 by a large margin.
Presidents of various local organisations from across the country, voting representatives and National Council Members participated in the election.
Arefin Rafi Ahmed's long-standing leadership at the grassroots level, commitment to working closely with members, and strong relationships with local organisations earned him overwhelming support in the election. The strong voter turnout, enthusiasm and support reflected a robust democratic practice within the organisation.
Reacting after the announcement of the results, Arefin Rafi Ahmed said, "This victory is not mine alone. It is a collective achievement of every member of JCI Bangladesh, every local organisation, and everyone who placed their trust in me. Your love and support have made me more responsible and more determined. I believe that together in 2026, we will be able to build a stronger, more united and more impactful JCI Bangladesh."
He will serve as national president for a one-year term in 2026, leading the organisation with a renewed vision centred on unity, innovation, institutional development and youth leadership development.
