Jamaat likely to join Consensus Commission dialogue tomorrow: Shafiqul Alam
The party skipped today's dialogue with the Consensus Commission

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam expressed hope that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will join tomorrow's dialogue between the National Consensus Commission and political parties.
"We hope Jamaat-e-Islami will participate in the discussions tomorrow. We spoke to them today," Shafiqul said in a press briefing.
The second phase resumed at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka this morning. No representatives from Jamaat were present at the meeting.
The development comes after a meeting in London between the commission's head and Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman agreed that it was possible to hold the next national election a week before Ramadan in February next year.
At today's briefing, Shafiqul said, "We are optimistic that the July Charter will be implemented next month."

Addressing criticism from the National Citizen Party and Jamaat regarding the chief adviser's recent statement's neutrality, he asserted, "We are entirely neutral, both in our stance and our actions. We view every party as a partner and believe we are upholding maximum neutrality. This is a crucial and intensive phase of discussions."
A source within Jamaat also told Samakal that the party had welcomed the London meeting between Yunus and Tarique. However, it expressed dissatisfaction over the announcement of an election timeline through a joint statement from abroad, calling it disrespectful and dismissive.
