Jamaat join consensus commission meeting today
From Jamaat-e-Islami, Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher and Rafiqul Islam Khan were present at the meeting

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami participated in the third day of second-phase talks with the National Consensus Commission (NCC) today (18 June), following its absence from the previous session.
The meeting began at 11am at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka, where representatives from political parties gathered to discuss three key issues: conclusion of previously unfinished discussions, the formation of a National Constitutional Council (NCC), and matters related to the presidential election.
From Jamaat-e-Islami, Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher and Rafiqul Islam Khan were present at the meeting.
Although the party has attended all previous sessions of the NCC, there was no representative from Jamaat at yesterday's meeting.
Yesterday, when asked about the absence, the chief adviser's press secretary Shafiqul Alam did not give a direct response but said, "We are hoping Jamaat-e-Islami will attend tomorrow (18 June)."
According to media reports, the party skipped the earlier meeting reportedly due to feeling "ignored" over the announcement of a potential election date, which followed a meeting between the chief adviser and BNP's acting chairman in London.
