July National Charter signing ceremony rescheduled for 17 October

The signing ceremony of the July National Charter has been rescheduled to Friday (17 October), instead of 15 October, to ensure greater public participation, the National Consensus Commission announced today (11 October).
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the State Guest House, Jamuna, chaired by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, according to the CA Press Wing.
After the meeting, the commission's Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz said the July National Charter signing would be a historic event. "To facilitate participation of interested citizens, the ceremony will be held on Friday afternoon, at the South Plaza of the National Parliament."
The meeting also decided that representatives of various political parties, alliances, and professional groups would be invited to attend the ceremony.
Among others, commission member Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Monir Haider were present.
Earlier on 9 October, the commission had announced that the event would take place on 15 October.
