Islami Andolan Bangladesh ameer urges nation to realise July Uprising aspirations thru embodying Ashura spirit
Through the statement, Mufti Rezaul also highlighted the political and religious significance of Ashura
Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim has called upon the nation to draw inspiration from the spirit of Ashura and move forward toward fulfilling the aspirations of the July Uprising in 2024.
"Ashura is not only a significant day in Islamic history but also a landmark in world history. It marks the downfall of many tyrants and symbolises the eternal struggle against oppression and injustice," he said in a statement issued today (6 July).
"The day of Ashura, steeped in the memory of Hazrat Hussain (RA), serves as a reminder of the fight for truth and justice. Honouring the legacy of Karbala, we must renew our commitment to realising the hopes of the July Uprising and stand united in our pursuit of change," he said.

"The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) instructed Muslims to fast on the day of Ashura and either the day before or after. It is imperative that we observe this day with devotion, prayer, and reflection in accordance with his guidance," the ameer added.
Through the statement, Mufti Rezaul also highlighted the political and religious significance of Ashura.
