Dhaka North administrator warns of action against postering outside designated places
Poster boards installed at 10 new locations, he says

Mohammad Azaz, the administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation, today (24 August) warned that legal action will be taken against those who put up posters outside the designated areas in the city.
"We will remove all illegal posters, banners, and festoons across Dhaka North within the next week. After that, anyone who puts up banners or posters outside the designated areas will face legal action, including fines. This applies equally to political, greeting and commercial posters," he said while inaugurating a designated site for posters at Agargaon's Taltola area in the capital.
Azaz said the city corporation is working to keep Dhaka city clean and visually appealing. "However, the indiscriminate display of posters and banners is damaging Dhaka's beauty and undermining our efforts."
The administrator said previously the city corporation intended to collect fees at commercial rates from those who put up posters and banners indiscriminately. "However, various political groups and platforms requested us to designate specific places for putting up posters."
In repose to their request, he said 15 designated old spots for postering has been repaired and poster boards have been installed at 10 new locations.
"Many say, I didn't put them [posters] up myself; my well-wishers did. To them, I would say—please make your well-wishers aware and responsible as well," added Azad.
He warned that, if necessary, a list of individuals whose names appear on posters and banners displayed indiscriminately will be submitted to the Election Commission to ensure appropriate measures are taken against them.
The administrator also sought the cooperation of city dwellers to preserve the beauty of the capital.
