Industries ministry takes safety measures to check coronavirus spread
State-owned distillery Carew and Company Bangladesh has already started producing hand sanitiser – to be sold at Tk60 per 100ml bottle
With the increase of coronavirus cases in the country, the Ministry of Industries has announced safety measures for organisations and officials under the ministry.
The measures include: the production of hand sanitiser, setting up a control room, opening WhatsApp groups for communication, and limiting official meetings, reads a press release issued from the ministry on Sunday.
Under this ministry, state-owned distillery Carew and Company Bangladesh, at Darshana of Chuadanga district, has already started producing hand sanitiser.

The sanitiser, named Carew's Hand Sanitiser, will be marketed experimentally from Monday – and it will be available a few days after that.
Laboratory experiments showed that the hand sanitiser is capable of destroying 99.99 percent germs.
Meanwhile, Carew and Company has already delivered the product to its employees in Chuadanga. The sanitiser will be available at 16 sale points across the country, in front of the ministry of industries and at the Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation.
Additionally, other organisations may also have the sanitiser but they have to place orders.
The company will sell the hand sanitiser at Tk60 per 100ml bottle.
Moreover, the ministry has also taken the initiative to ensure cleanliness among ministry officials and employees.
As part of the initiative, the officials and employees have to wash their hands at regular intervals, use hand sanitiser, and follow ministry directives when sneezing or coughing.
The ministry has also asked the officials to abstain from shaking hands and visiting crowded spots.
The directives have been issued for all offices in all levels under the ministry.
It has also opened a control room to deal with emergency situations regarding coronavirus.
At the ministry building in Motijheel, a control room has been set to deal with emergencies, and Deputy Secretary Pratul Kumar Saha has been made the point person responsible for it.
