Imtiaz Ahmad Masum, director of the Supervision Department at Bangladesh Bank's Barishal office, has been promoted to the post of executive director.
He was promoted on 4 March, according to a central bank notification issued today (9 March).
Masum joined the Bangladesh Bank in 1999 as an assistant director.
During his nearly 26-year career at the central bank, he has served in several important departments, including the Foreign Exchange and Vigilance Department, Accounts and Budget Department, Sustainable Finance Department, and the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department.
He also served as the project director of the IPFF-II project and worked at the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).
As part of his professional responsibilities, Masum has visited several countries, including the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland, and Türkiye.
In recognition of his professional excellence, he received the Bangladesh Bank Employee Recognition Award.
