Hossain Sadat elected ICSB president
He earlier served on the council from 2013 to 2016

Hossain Sadat FCS was elected president of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) at its 114th council meeting yesterday (9 October).
With nearly three decades of cross‑industry experience, Sadat has built expertise in corporate governance, regulatory strategy, sustainability, financial management and strategic communications, reads a press release.
Over the years, he has held senior leadership roles at Grameenphone Ltd, Shell Oil & Gas, Cairn Energy PLC and KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq.
He earlier served on the council from 2013 to 2016.
The council also chose Md Rafiqul Islam as senior vice president. Islam, who has 25 years of professional experience, is currently deputy managing director and company secretary of Walton Hi‑Tech Industries PLC. He earlier worked as member secretary of the International Relations Sub‑Committee (2016–2019) and as a member of the Company Law Review Sub‑Committee (2019–2022).
Md Sharif Hasan was named vice president. A governance professional with 16 years of experience, he serves as director of regulatory affairs and company secretary of Unique Hotel & Resorts PLC (Unique Group) and sits on the board of Chartered Life Insurance PLC. Hasan has also been a council member for two consecutive terms and chaired the Corporate Laws Review Sub‑Committee during both.
The treasurer's role went to Md Mizanur Rahman. A partner at Jasmin & Associates, Chartered Secretaries, Rahman has 27 years of professional experience. He previously chaired the Public Relations Sub‑Committee for the 2022–2025 term.
