Railways ministry urges Eid travellers to wear masks amid rising Covid cases

The Ministry of Railways has urged all passengers travelling during the return leg of Eid-ul-Adha holidays to wear masks and adhere to health guidelines amid a recent surge in Covid-19 infections.
In a statement issued today (8 June), the ministry requested commuters to follow basic safety protocols while travelling by train during the post-Eid rush.
The appeal follows recommendations from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to avoid crowded areas and ensure the use of masks in public spaces.

Citing the rising infection rate, the health ministry has especially advised elderly and chronically ill individuals to avoid large gatherings.
"In light of the current upward trend in Covid-19 transmission, we are requesting everyone travelling by train during the Eid return to wear masks and follow health guidelines," read the statement from the Ministry of Railways.
The ministry also reiterated the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and avoiding unnecessary contact to reduce the risk of transmission during the peak travel period.
