Neuroscience hospital director Deen Mohammad resigns amid protest by doctors
He submitted his resignation letter to the health adviser, a senior official of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed to The Business Standard today (13 February)

Professor Dr Quazi Deen Mohammad has resigned from the post of the director of the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in Dhaka in the face of protests by hospital doctors.
He submitted his resignation letter to the health adviser, a senior official of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed to The Business Standard today (13 February).
The health ministry has instructed the public administration ministry to take steps in this regard, the official added.
Deen Mohammad's resignation comes following a heated dispute and subsequent protests.
The situation escalated yesterday, when doctors protesting the reappointment of neuromedicine specialist Associate Professor Dr Gurudas Mondal – who was transferred to the Pabna Medical College four months ago – came under attack by fourth-class employees and outsourced workers.
The protesting doctors had gathered in room 402 of the hospital demanding the cancellation of Dr Mondal's appointment order. At least 10, including two doctors, were injured in the attack.
The protester alleged that the attackers were followers of Dr Deen. They later announced a work abstention demanding the resignation of the director Dr Deen and Joint Director Badrul Alam.
