Measles: Death toll reaches 925 as 3 more children die
A total of 1,004 new suspected measles cases were reported during the aforementioned 24-hour period.
Three more children died from measles-like symptoms in 24 hours until 8am today (20 August), bringing Bangladesh's combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 925.
With the latest update, the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 826 while the number of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths has reached 99, according to the daily update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 1,004 new suspected measles cases were reported during the aforementioned 24-hour period, bringing the cumulative number of suspected cases nationwide to 1,46,715.
Meanwhile, 68 new confirmed measles cases were recorded in 24 hours, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 18,144.
Since 15 March, a total of 1,28,026 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 1,23,684 have recovered, according to DGHS.
