Dr Kazi Gias Uddin Ahmed, a professor from the Neurology Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, has been appointed as the acting director of the National Institute of Neurosciences And Hospital.
A notice was issued today (18 February), signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Abu Saleh Mohammad Mahfuzul Alam.
The appointment was announced after the government cancelled the remaining tenure of the contract-based appointment of Professor Dr Kazi Deen Mohammad as the director.

A notice, signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Health Mohammad Saiful Islam, stated that Gias Uddin will take on his new position within three working days.
