Health minister makes surprise visit to Singair health complex

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Husain paid a surprise visit to the Singair Upazila Health Complex and its 50-bed hospital in Manikganj district this morning (14 March).
During the visit, he took part in the inauguration of a mosquito extermination and cleanliness drive aimed at preventing dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.
The nationwide programme began today.
The minister also visited different sections of the health complex and spoke with patients to learn about their problems.
He enquired whether patients were receiving food properly and asked about the quality of the meals provided.
He also checked whether doctors were present on time. The minister expressed dissatisfaction after finding that the Upazila Health and Family Welfare Officer and two other doctors had not arrived at the office on time.
The Ministry of Health said such surprise inspections of government health centres will continue.
