Dengue infects 2,882 Rohingya in 9 months, claims 10 lives
The latest data from the Cox’s Bazar Civil Surgeon’s Office also shows 32 new dengue cases in the district in the past 24 hours.
Dengue infections continue to rise in Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar, with 2,882 cases and 10 deaths recorded between 1 January and 5 October this year, according to the latest report from the Cox's Bazar Civil Surgeon's Office.
Of the 10 Rohingya who died from dengue, six were children and four were elderly men and women, according to data from the office's statistics division.
Across Cox's Bazar district, 5,033 dengue cases have been detected during the same period, with Rohingya camp residents accounting for more than half of the total infections.
The latest report, prepared today (5 October), said 32 new dengue cases were detected in the district in the past 24 hours, including one Rohingya patient.
Of the newly identified patients, 28 were admitted to hospitals, while 23 patients were discharged after receiving treatment during the same period.
