Dengue claims one more life; 358 hospitalised in 24hrs
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people

One more death was reported from dengue in 24 hours till this morning (3 July), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 45 this year.
During the period, 358 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total infected-case to 11, 456 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the DGHS, new cases were reported as follows: 150 Barishal Division (Out of city corporation), 32 in Chattogram Division (Out of city corporation), 14 in Khulna Division (Out of city corporation), five in Mymensingh Division (Out of city corporation), 29 in Rajshahi Division (Out of city corporation), three in Rangpur Division (Out of city corporation), two in Sylhet Division (Out of city corporation), 45 Dhaka Division (Out of city corporation), 39 in Dhaka North City Corporation and 39 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.
In 2023, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
The DGHS recorded 3,21,179 dengue cases and 3,18,749 recoveries in the same year.
