3 dengue patients die, 565 fresh cases detected overnight
According to the DGHS statistics, one died in areas with the purview of Dhaka North and two in Dhaka South City Corporation
Health officials today (4 December) said they recorded 565 fresh dengue cases, killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded deaths of three dengue patients in 24 hours ending at 8 am today," a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, adding that his office simultaneously recorded 565 fresh cases of dengue during the same period.
According to the DGHS statistics, one died in areas with the purview of Dhaka North City Corporation and two in Dhaka South City Corporation.
"Out of the 565 fresh cases, 48 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 101 in Chattogram division, 67 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 253 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 33 in Khulna division, 26 in Mymensingh division, 28 in Rajshahi division, four in Rangpur division and five in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue cases, Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 394 deaths while the disease has inflicted 96,627.
Dengue last year claimed 575 lives and afflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
