Three people died of dengue, and 1,463 new patients were hospitalised across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, marking the highest single-day admission figure recorded this year.
The latest deaths have raised the country's dengue death toll to 133, according to a press release issued today (9 September) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the three deaths, one was reported from Dhaka, one from Mymensingh and one from Rangpur division.
Meanwhile, hospitals discharged 1,426 dengue patients during the same period, bringing the total recoveries this year to 43,553.
With the latest admissions, the cumulative number of dengue cases recorded nationwide has reached 46,938.
