Dengue: 2 more die, 423 hospitalised in 24hrs
The country's dengue caseload has risen to 16,104 this year, while the death toll stands at 56.
Two people died of dengue and 423 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the 24 hours until this morning (2 August), according to the latest data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The figures were published in a press release issued today by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the DGHS.
Of the two deaths, one was reported in Barishal division and the other in Khulna division.
With the latest fatalities, the number of dengue-related deaths this year has risen to 56.
During the same period, 472 patients recovered from the mosquito-borne disease and were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 14,930.
The total number of confirmed dengue cases recorded so far this year has reached 16,104.
