5 more dengue patients die in 24 hours

Bangladesh reported five more deaths and 678 new cases from dengue in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
With the new casualties, the official death toll from dengue has risen to 61 this year, with 34 deaths in June and 14 deaths in the last four days of July.
Of the new patients, 429 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and the rest outside the capital, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 1,669 dengue patients, including 1,100 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
So far, the DGHS has recorded 9,871 dengue cases, 8,141 recoveries.
The country recorded 281 dengue deaths in 2022, the highest on record after the 179 deaths recorded in 2019. Additionally, the DGHS recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries last year.
