Train carriage catches fire at Kamalapur station, sabotage suspected
The train was scheduled to leave for Mohanganj at 10:15pm when the fire broke out in one of its coaches.
A fire broke out on a Netrakona-bound Haor Express train at Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka tonight (20 September), damaging one carriage.
Railway authorities initially suspect sabotage in the incident.
The fire service received the report at 9:33pm after the train caught fire while standing on Platform 2, said Talha Bin Jasim, media officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

"Two units from Khilgaon Fire Station and three from Siddiq Bazar Fire Station responded to the incident. They brought the fire under control at 9:52pm and fully extinguished it at 10:16pm," he said.
No one was injured in the fire.
ABM Kamruzzaman, divisional railway manager for Dhaka, said the signs of the fire spreading rapidly through the carriage suggested that petrol or gunpowder may have been used.
"The fire appears to have spread through the entire carriage very quickly, suggesting that petrol or gunpowder may have been used," he said.
The railway authorities will form an investigation committee to determine the cause of the fire, Kamruzzaman said.
The Haor Express is scheduled to leave Kamalapur for Mohanganj at 10:15pm every day.
