Hand bomb explodes outside BNP leader Asim's Dhanmondi residence, one injured
Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation
A hand bomb detonated in front of the Dhanmondi residence of BNP International Affairs Secretary Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim on Tuesday night (9 December).
Two bombs were hurled outside the house on Dhanmondi Road-1 at around 10:15pm, confirmed Asim's wife Barrister Mehnaz Mannan.
Habibur Rahman, joint convener of the Dhanmondi Thana Sramik Dal, was injured in the blast. He was rushed to hospital immediately after the incident.
Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine who carried out the attack and the motive behind it.
Soon after the explosion, leaders and activists of local BNP and affiliated organisations staged a protest at the scene.
