Govt recruits 3,263 health officers under special BCS exam
The newly recruited doctors and dentists will undergo basic training
The government today (22 January) announced the recruitment of 3,263 officers under a special BCS exam for the health cadre.
A statement from the Ministry of Public Administration said the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) health cadre officers were recruited at the entry level through the 48th BCS (special) Examination–2025.
Of the total, 2,984 officers were recruited as assistant surgeons and 279 as assistant dental surgeons.
The newly recruited doctors and dentists will undergo basic training at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center or another government-designated training institution, followed by service-related professional training at relevant organisations, as determined by the government.
The statement added that the recruits will serve as probationary officers for two years. If necessary, their probation period may be extended for up to an additional two years.
If a probationary officer is found unfit to continue during this period, he or she may be removed from service in consultation with the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC).
According to the notification, 2,984 people were appointed as assistant surgeons and 279 as assistant dental surgeons under the BCS (health) cadre.
