Govt extends tenure of review committee on 'deprived officers' till 30 June
BCS administration cadre officers will not be eligible to apply to the review committee

The government today (27 May) extended the tenure of the committee on 'deprived officials' until June 30 to submit its review report.
"The committee was formed on 16 September 2024 to review applications of those officers who retired from 3rd grade to above and were also deprived of promotion and service benefits from 2009 to 4 August 2024," according to a notification.
Public administration ministry in the notification, signed by Joint Secretary Mian Muhammad Ashraf Reza Faridi, said BCS administration cadre officers will not be eligible to apply to the review committee.
It said that on 16 September 2024, the government formed the five-member committee headed by Zakir Ahmed Khan, a former finance secretary and former alternate executive director of the World Bank for Bangladesh.
The new notification said that the duration of the committee has been extended until 30 June to review the applications of retired officers deprived of promotion from serving in grade 3 to above of other cadres (for which the recommendations of the Superior Selection Board are applicable) except for the BCS administration cadre.
Regarding the terms of reference of the committee, it said that the committee can set a deadline for submitting applications and submit recommendations on remedies in phases or together except the matters on which there were clear court orders.
Now the committee will submit its final report to the government by 30 June.
