Government offices, banks reopen after 10-day Eid-ul-Adha holiday
Several advisers were seen arriving at the Secretariat premises in the morning, signalling the full resumption of official activities
Government offices, banks, and financial institutions across Bangladesh reopened today (15 June) following a 10-day holiday for Eid-ul-Adha.
The Secretariat — the administrative hub of the government — saw the presence of officials and employees of all levels early in the morning.
Several advisers were seen arriving at the Secretariat premises in the morning, signalling the full resumption of official activities.
A visit to various ministries revealed that employees were exchanging Eid greetings with one another. Some ministries had pre-scheduled meetings, and preparations for those meetings were underway.
However, despite the end of the long holiday, a few officials were still reported absent.
This year, Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated on 7 June.
The last working day for government employees before the holiday was 4 June.
As a result, public sector workers enjoyed a continuous 10-day break from 5 June to 14 June.
