The visitors enjoyed up to 50 percent discount and almost every stall had something to offer.

According to the seller, the customer soon will have to pay more for the imported features as the government slapped more VAT on the products in the new budget. “So far we haven’t increased the prices,” said Sayed Rifat Iqbal, senior executive of Samsung adding: “Most of our products are manufactured in Bangladesh.”

Solaiman Siddiki-- a visitor to the fair -- bought a headphone from DXTEL stall. He said the product cost Tk 1,950 with discount, while the market price was more than Tk 2,100.

In the meantime, Mirpur dweller Md Rafik bought a smartphone at Tk 14,000with 50 percent discount.

“That’s why I love to visit such tech- extravaganza,” both of them sounded glad.

“Numerous offers available at the fair keep buzzing the youths at such gathering. And we have got satisfactory responses from our customers also this time,” Arman Hossain, training manager of Vivo said.

Local news website techsohor.com was the title sponsor of the event.
