Former prime minister Khaleda Zia's principal secretary Kamal Siddiqui dies
Dr Kamal Uddin Siddiqui, former principal secretary of former prime minister Khaleda Zia, passed away early today (03 November).
According to a government statement issued in the morning, he breathed his last at Gulshan residence.
He will be buried at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard, followed by Namaz-e-Janaza after Asr prayer at Gulshan Azad Mosque, reads the statement.
Kamal performed duty as the principal secretary of Khaleda Zia till 2006.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Principal Secretary, eminent administrator, economist and social scientist Dr Kamal Uddin Siddiqui.
"Dr Kamal Siddiqui was a shining star in administration, development thinking and academic research. He was an honest, visionary and dedicated public servant who worked to modernise the administrative structure of the country," the Chief Adviser said in a condolence message.
The nation will remember his contributions as a valiant freedom fighter, researcher and policymaker with profound respect, he said.
