The formation of the media reform commission is likely to be announced next week, Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam said today (23 September).
"The announcement may come after Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus returns from the United Nations General Assembly in New York," the adviser said during a views-exchange meeting with newspaper publishers, editors, executive editors and other stakeholders at the office of Department of Films & Publications (DFP) in Dhaka.
"We want to ensure freedom of the media but it requires a policy. The commission will be constituted at the earliest to formulate the policy," Nahid added.
