Forest land worth Tk2cr recovered in Ctg after demolishing illegally built house

Authorities recovered government-protected forest land worth nearly TK2 crore through a mobile court operation today (8 January) after demolishing an illegally built house in Chattogram's Banshkhali upazila.
The operation was carried out at Bochira Bari in Pui Churi union of Banshkhali upazila, said Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate, Md Omar Sani Akon, who led the drive.
He said that after repeated warnings, the house was demolished through a mobile court to recover government forest land, and operations to prevent illegal encroachment will continue.
Jaldi Wildlife Sanctuary Range Officer Anisuzzaman Sheikh said, "A house was being constructed on 2.5 kani (around 50 gonda) of land reserved by the Forest Department. Even after repeated warnings to the locals, the work continued. Finally, the house was demolished through the mobile court, and the government land was recovered."
The operation saw participation from the army, Banshkhali police, officials from Chambal, Napora, and Pui Churi forest beats, Jaldi range officers, and staff from the upazila land office.
