Fire at Old Dhaka shoe factory brought under control within an hour
The flames were fully brought under control by 11:35pm.
Firefighters brought a blaze at a shoe factory in Old Dhaka under control within one hour today (16 February).
The fire broke out at the factory situated on Agamsi Lane off Aga Sadek Road at approximately 10:45pm, according to Fire Service and Civil Defence. Three firefighting units rushed to the scene and began operations.
Fire Service media officer Talha Bin Jasim said the fire originated on the fourth floor of the seven-storey building housing the factory. He added that the flames were fully brought under control by 11:35pm.
Officials could not immediately confirm the cause of the fire or report any casualties.
