Fire guts 19 shops in Munshiganj

A devastating fire that broke out in the Shologhar area of Munshiganj's Sreenagar upazila has reduced 19 shops to ashes.
The blaze started around 2am today (6 July) and gutted several shops located in front of the Sreenagar Registry Office.
Upon receiving the news, four firefighting units — two from Sreenagar Fire Station and two from Sirajdikhan Fire Station — rushed to the scene and began efforts to control the fire.
After trying for nearly an hour, firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by 3am.
The fire was fully extinguished by 4am., fire service officials said.
According to Dewan Azad Hossain, station officer of Sreenagar Fire Station, the affected establishments included deed-writing offices, grocery stores, tea stalls, restaurants, variety stores, and photocopy shops.
"The fire caused significant losses to local business owners, many of whom have lost their sole source of income," Azad said.
"An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage," Azad added.
