4 of a family suffer burn injuries in fire from 'gas leak' in N'ganj
They are undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery
Four members of a family suffered burn injuries in a fire apparently from gas leak in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj district today (6 December).
The injured were identified as Jarina Begum, 65, Alauddin, 35, Sathia Akter, 14 and Saima, 4.
Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said the fire broke out at the house of Jarina early Saturday morning most probably from accumulated gas due to a leakage in the line at Kanchpur Patatata village, leaving four members of the family injured.
Among the injured, Jarina sustained 20% burns, Sathia Akter 12%, Alauddin 40%, and Saima 30%.
All four were admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
