Ex- Additional DIG Pralay Kumar ordered to submit wealth statement
Anti-Corruption Commission’s Assistant Director, Public Relations, Md. Tanzir Ahmed disclosed the information to the media at its regular briefing here today.
The ACC has instructed former Additional Deputy Inspector General (Additional DIG) of Police Pralay Kumar Joarder to submit a statement of his assets after finding preliminary evidence that he acquired assets worth about Taka 9,21,4,872 that is beyond his known sources of income.

According to the ACC inquiry, allegations against Pralay Kumar Joarder, including his involvement in extortion and smuggling and building residential properties at home and abroad with illegally acquired money, were investigated.
Following the inquiry, evidence was found indicating that he had acquired assets beyond his known sources of income. Based on the findings, a recommendation was made to issue an order requiring him to submit a statement of assets under section 26(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004. The commission subsequently approved the recommendation.
The report also said that preliminary evidence was found that Pralay Kumar's wife, late Biplabi Rani, had acquired assets worth taka 3,55,6,734 beyond her known sources of income. However, as she died on November 6, 2023, the report recommended that she be relieved of all criminal liabilities in connection with the allegations.
ACC Assistant Director Md. Emran Hossain conducted the inquiry.
