The removal of all unauthorised advertisements and election campaign materials from all wards began on 8 December
All types of materials related to election campaigning for the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum have been removed from the areas under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), reads a press release.
A public notice was issued on 2 December requesting concerned organisations, individuals and institutions to remove all unauthorized banners, festoons, posters, advertisements, signboards and election leaflets from areas under the jurisdiction of the DSCC.
In this connection, the removal of all unauthorised advertisements and election campaign materials from all wards began on 8 December.
On 11 December, the Election Commission announced the schedule for the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum.
"In line with the Election Commission's directive to remove all election campaign materials within 48 hours of the announcement, the DSCC removed almost all such materials within the stipulated time. The process is still ongoing," reads the press release issued today (21 December).
The DSCC has urged all concerned to comply with the Code of Conduct for Parliamentary Elections to protect the environment and preserve the beauty of the city.
However, if anyone places any unauthorized election materials again in the DSCC area, the Central Control Room should be informed by dialing 02223386014.
