Ekushey Book Fair 2026 to start early on 17 December due to election, Ramadan

The Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 will be held from 17 December 2025 to 17 January 2026, taking into account the upcoming national elections and the holy month of Ramadan.
The decision was made today (18 September) at a meeting on fixing the fair dates, held at the Shaheed Munir Chowdhury Auditorium of Bangla Academy, according to a press release.
The meeting was chaired by Md Mofidur Rahman, secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

Bangla Academy Director General Prof Mohammad Azam, the academy's secretary and directors, along with representatives of the Bangladesh Publishers and Booksellers Association, were also present at the meeting.
