In solidarity with his move, all deans, heads, and directors jointly resigned from their administrative positions, reads a post by the university's verified Facebook page.

The Business Standard tried to contact UIU officials for comments but they were unreachable.
According to media reports, protest erupted on UIU campus in Dhaka today, demanding the resignation of VC Abul Kashem Mia and CSE Department head Muhammad Nurul Huda.
The protesting students alleged that faculty members with political affiliations were actively harassing students who participated in the 2024 July mass uprising.
The students' demands also include the immediate implementation of 'UIU Reform 1.0'.
