Over 1.14 lakh students to sit for postponed DU Science unit test today
The examination is scheduled to take place from 3:30pm to 5pm, according to university authorities.
The postponed admission test for the first-year undergraduate Science unit of Dhaka University for the 2025–26 academic session is being held today (27 December), with more than 1.14 lakh applicants competing for 1,891 seats.
The examination is scheduled to take place from 3:30pm to 5pm, according to university authorities.
A total of 114,114 students have applied for the Science Unit test this year. The exam is being conducted at centres on the Dhaka University campus and at public universities in seven divisional cities outside the capital.
Outside Dhaka, the centres are Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, University of Barishal, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Sylhet, Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, and Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur.
In a press release, the Dhaka University Public Relations Office said special arrangements have been made for candidates who are also sitting for the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) admission test on the same day and have shifted their DU Science Unit centres to Dhaka.
To facilitate these candidates, three additional examination centres have been set up in the Mirpur and Farmgate areas.
The authorities have also coordinated with the metro rail service to ensure smoother movement of students, with reduced intervals between trains and additional services operating for the day.
The Science Unit admission test was originally scheduled to be held on 20 December but was postponed following the declaration of a day of national mourning over the death of Dhaka University alumnus and Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
