SSC, HSC exams on short syllabus, but for all subjects
The SSC and its equivalent exams are usually held in February, and the HSC exams in April

The Secondary School Certificate, the Higher Secondary Certificate, and equivalent examinations in 2023, will be held on a short syllabus and a full marking system in April and June next year.
The SSC and its equivalent exams are usually held in February, and the HSC exams in April.
However, the SSC and HSC exams will be held on all subjects like in pre-pandemic times, said Education Minister Dipu Moni at a secretariat press conference on Tuesday.
"Due to the closure of educational institutions amid the pandemic, students will have attended close to half the physical classes they normally do. So the education ministry has decided to hold the 2023 examinations on the same short syllabus as in 2022," she said.
The SSC examinees of 2023 were unable to attend any classes till 12 September of 2021. After that they attended classes for two days a week till 20 January 2022. Their total class time will be 162 days if they can attend classes till December this year, though customarily they are required to attend at least 316 days.
The total class days for HSC examinees will be 200 days if they can attend classes regularly till December this year, but they need at least 330 days to prepare for the examinations. As such, HSC exams will also be held for a shortened syllabus, the minister said.
About the Junior School Certificate and Junior Dhakhil examinations, Dipu Moni said, there is little chance for their exams to be held this year as the ministry is yet to take any decision in this regard.
The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education have set the probable dates for SSC and HSC examinations on 19 June and 22 August respectively this year.
