Milestone College records 99.83% HSC pass rate; principal dedicates results to jet crash tragedy victims
Among 2,981 candidates from both Bangla medium and English version streams, 791 attained GPA-5

Students of Milestone College have achieved outstanding results in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examination 2025 under the Dhaka Education Board, with a pass rate of 99.83%.
Among 2,981 candidates from both Bangla medium and English version streams, 791 attained GPA-5.
In the science group, 2,373 students sat the exams, of whom 2,370 passed, giving a pass rate of 99.87%, with 748 achieving GPA-5. All 305 candidates from the Business Studies group passed, with 23 securing GPA-5. In the humanities group, 303 students participated, 301 passed, achieving a 99.34% pass rate, with 20 earning GPA-5.
Milestone College Principal Mohammad Ziaul Alam congratulated the students and dedicated this year's remarkable results to those killed and injured in the tragic 21 July plane crash, honouring their memory through the college's continued pursuit of excellence.
He praised the combined efforts of teachers, students, and guardians, saying, "With proper supervision by the college administration, the dedication of our teachers, the focus of the students, and the support of respected guardians, our students continue to achieve excellent results every year."
The tragedy occurred on 21 July when a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) F-7 BGI fighter jet crashed into the primary section building of Milestone School and College's Diabari campus in Uttara shortly after takeoff, triggering a massive fire.
The aircraft, which had departed from BAF Base Bir Uttom AK Khandker at 1:06pm, reportedly suffered a technical failure.
The pilot ejected but later died from his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital.
The final confirmed death toll reached 36, including 32 students, 3 teachers, and the pilot.
