Govt revises experience criteria for top designations in private madrasas
The circular said the revised criteria will come into effect immediately
The government has revised the experience requirements for top designations in private madrasa institutions, issuing a new circular aimed at improving education standards and administrative efficiency.
The circular, issued yesterday (16 March) by the Technical and Madrasah Education Division under the Ministry of Education, introduces significant changes to the manpower structure and MPO policy for non-government madrasas.
The circular said the revised criteria will come into effect immediately.
According to the new provisions, candidates for the post of principal at Kamil (Master's) level madrasas must have at least 18 years of MPO-listed service along with a minimum of three years' experience as principal, vice-principal, muhaddis, mufassir, fiqh scholar, adib, or assistant professor. Candidates must also be index-listed.
However, teaching experience requirements may be relaxed by up to two years for MPhil degree holders and up to four years for PhD holders.
Similarly, for the post of vice-principal, the requirement of at least three years of experience as an assistant professor and a total of 18 years of MPO-listed service has been imposed.
At Fazil (pass/honours) level madrasas, the criteria for principal and vice-principal posts have also been tightened, requiring at least three years' experience in relevant academic positions and 18 years of MPO-listed service.
Experience as a principal or vice-principal of Alim-level madrasas will also be considered as an alternative qualification.
For Alim-level madrasas, candidates for the principal post must have three years' experience as an assistant professor along with 18 years of MPO-listed service.
Alternatively, five years' experience as superintendent of a Dakhil madrasa will be accepted.
For the vice-principal (Alim) post, at least two years' experience as an assistant professor is required, while experience as a muhaddis, mufassir, fiqh scholar, adib, or lecturer will also be considered. A total of 18 years of MPO-listed service and index registration remain mandatory.
In Dakhil madrasas, candidates for the superintendent post must have at least three years' experience as assistant superintendent and 18 years of MPO-listed service. Alternatively, experience as an assistant maulvi or head teacher of Ebtedayee madrasas will be accepted.
For the post of assistant superintendent, candidates must also have 18 years of MPO-listed service along with experience as an assistant maulvi or Ebtedayee head teacher.
The circular, signed by Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, said the revised criteria aim to enhance the quality of madrasa education and strengthen institutional management.
