Everything you need to know about MBBS, BDS exam this Friday
This year, a total of 122,632 candidates have applied for admission
The admission test for MBBS and BDS courses for the 2025-26 academic session will be held on Friday (12 December) at 10am across 17 centres and 49 venues nationwide.
The exam duration has also been extended by 15 minutes, according to a press release by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Candidates must enter the exam hall between 8am and 9:30am carrying a transparent bag containing their colored admit card, a black ballpoint pen, and HSC/equivalent exam admit card or registration card, the release said.
Bringing other bags, mobile phones, calculators, electronic devices, or watches into the exam centre is strictly prohibited.
The exam hall entry will close at 9:30am.
This year's written test will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions based on the HSC or equivalent syllabus, carrying 1 mark each.
The pass mark is set at 40. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
A total of 13,051 seats are available across government and private medical colleges. from which the government colleges are offering 5,645 seats (MBBS - 5,100, BDS - 545), while private colleges are offerring 7,406 seats (MBBS - 6,001, BDS - 1,405).
This year, a total of 122,632 candidates have applied for admission.
The Ministry has further urged candidates not to believe any rumours regarding question paper leaks, emphasising that there is no scope for leaks in the MBBS and BDS admission tests.
