Dengue death toll reaches 47 as 3 more patient dies in 24hrs

Three people have died from dengue and 512 new patients have been hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours preceding this morning, according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today (28 July).
The latest figures, released by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the DGHS show that one of the deaths was reported in Chattogram Division and the other two in Rajshahi Division.
The latest fatalities have pushed the dengue death toll this year to 47.

During the same period, 532 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the mosquito-borne disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in 2026 to 13,009.
With the latest infections, the total number of confirmed dengue cases this year has risen to 14,156, the DGHS said.
Health authorities have urged people to eliminate mosquito breeding sites in and around their homes and seek prompt medical attention if they develop symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, muscle pain or persistent vomiting.
