BUP AIS signs MoU with ICMAB to strengthen accounting education

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) to foster collaboration in accounting education and professional development.
The agreement, signed on BUP campus, offers multiple benefits for AIS students, including articleship placements, exemptions from six professional papers, tuition fee waivers, and academic support designed to elevate the standard of accounting education.
This partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic instruction and industry-ready skills, preparing students for dynamic careers in accounting and finance.
Representatives from both institutions stressed the importance of integrating professional training with university-level education. They expressed hope that this collaboration will encourage more students to pursue globally recognised qualifications and gain early exposure to the professional world.
Officials from BUP and ICMAB expressed confidence that this initiative would serve as a model for future academic-professional collaborations, ultimately contributing to the advancement of the country's accounting profession.
