Despite a cyclone alert in coastal regions, the National University of Bangladesh will hold its first-year undergraduate (honours) admission test for the 2024–25 academic session tomorrow (31 May).

Professor ASM Amanullah, vice-chancellor of National University announced this during a press conference held at the NU city office in Dhanmondi today (30 May).

Amanullah said, "The exam will be conducted simultaneously at 879 centres across all seven divisions of the country, with approximately 5,50,000 students expected to participate."

Initially set for 3 May, the exam was rescheduled twice — first to 24 May and then again to 31 May — due to multiple logistical issues.

According to university sources, all preparations have been finalised, and meetings have been held with centre principals and secretaries to ensure smooth coordination. Centres have been allocated as per previously published lists.

Dhaka Division will host the largest number of centres (247), followed by Khulna (156), Rajshahi (143), Chattogram (134), Rangpur (96), Barishal (59), and Sylhet (44). In addition to government colleges, several local educational institutions are also being used as exam venues.

The exam format will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), to be completed within one hour.

Admission results will be determined based on a combined score of 200 marks, which includes the entrance exam score along with 40% of the SSC GPA and 60% of the HSC GPA.

Students must bring them admit cards and HSC registration cards to the exam hall. While scientific calculators are permitted, the use of mobile phones or any electronic devices is strictly prohibited.
