The Election Commission (EC) has extended the deadline to register via the 'Postal Vote BD' app for the final time, setting 5 January as the new cut-off date.

The deadline had already been extended once previously to facilitate wider participation.
EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed that the original deadline of 31 December had been extended following requests from voters who had yet to register.
According to EC data, as of 4pm today, more than 10,52,000 voters had registered for postal voting through the Postal Vote BD application.
Eligible voters include expatriates, government employees stationed outside their registered constituencies, and those in lawful custody. Expatriate voters are required to provide accurate addresses in their countries to receive postal ballots. Where necessary, they may use the address of a friend, relative, or a well-known nearby institution.
