EC approves BAIRA election
It also gave directives to all relevant offices to take necessary measures.
The Election Commission (EC) has approved the holding of the biennial election of the executive committee of the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) for the 2026-2028 term.
The election will be held on Saturday (17 January), at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka.
In a notification signed by Election Commission official Mohammad Monir Hossain on Wednesday (14 January), the EC said the election has been permitted subject to compliance with the prescribed code of conduct and requested all relevant offices to take necessary measures.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the election, copies of the notification have been sent to several high-level government offices, including the Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser, the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, and the Inspector General of Police.
In a separate letter to the BAIRA administrator, the EC reiterated that the election may be held on 17 January in line with the code of conduct.
Voting will take place at the Celebrity Hall of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre.
