The government has directed the Hindu community to conduct this year's Durga Puja at a limited number of Puja mandaps due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The directive was conveyed on Sunday during a virtual meeting on the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, in the presence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, said a press release.

Also, no processions will be allowed to commemorate the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga.
Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committees across the country have been directed to make necessary arrangements in this regard.
Members of different law enforcement agencies will be deployed to ensure safety and security during the celebrations.
The participants conveyed a note of caution over the impending second wave of coronavirus in the country.
Senior officials of different ministries, directorates and law enforcement agencies attended the virtual meeting.
The Hindu community is set to celebrate Durga Puja, their biggest religious festival, on October 22, amidst the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
