Ducsu leaders stage protest over Chhatra League posters on DU campus
They urged the university administration to review CCTV footage and identify those responsible within 24 hours.
Leaders of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) staged a protest in front of the university's proctor's office today (28 February), demanding action over posters put up across the campus allegedly by the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League.
Around 1pm, Ducsu leaders and activists, led by Social Welfare Secretary AB Zubair, gathered in front of the proctor's office, chanted various slogans.
They urged the university administration to identify those responsible by reviewing CCTV footage and bring them under the law within 24 hours.
A delegation later met with the university's Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Zubair said, "Those who attacked students on 15 July, how do they dare to put up posters on campus? We have given the proctor 24 hours to review the CCTV footage and identify those responsible."
Earlier yesterday (27 February), posters reading "Unconditional release of all political prisoners of Bangladesh Chhatra League" were seen at several locations across the campus.
A video of the posters, allegedly put up at night, was later shared on Facebook by Mazharul Kabir Shayan, president of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League's Dhaka University unit.
